Terminating a worker’s employment is not only among the most difficult things employers must do, it's also a source of legal liability if handled badly. In the Successful Termination program from LearnKey, supervisors and managers will learn how to set expectations for their employees and manage their performance. This program utilizes the experience and expertise of attorney Gail Mautner, co-chair of the employment law practice group, to define instituting Progressive Discipline in cases of performance problems and how to pursue an organized, fair and legal termination process.

Gail Mautner is a partner in Lane Powell's Seattle office and a co-chair of the firm's Labor and
Employment Department. Mautner regularly advises clients with regard to all aspects of compliance with
federal, state and local employment law, as well as general personnel issues including wage and hour
issues. She represents clients in disputed matters before administrative agencies, in the courts and in
mediations. Mautner conducts on site training for clients' supervisors and line staff on employment law
topics, including workplace harassment, ADA/FMLA requirements, religious and disability accommodation,
wage and hour compliance, employee discipline and termination, and layoffs.
