Stand Out in the Crowd with a Microsoft Technology Associate Certification

Microsoft offers a new certification track, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification. This is an entry level certification that is aimed at providing you with an opportunity to explore career options and choose the certification path that is the best fit for you while introducing you to important information and concepts. It doesn't hurt that you can earn widely recognized and respected certifications as you go.

The MTA serves a few different purposes. This new certification provides a base of information for novices. Remember the Networking Essential exam that was part of the NT 4.0 MCSE track - we haven't had anything like this since! It is about time Microsoft brought this back. Windows 2008 certifications expect the IT Professional to have a baseline foundation of this knowledge and jumps right into the nuts and bolts. This certification will help build the foundation for the other certifications.

The certification can also provide you with a basis to decide which path in IT you would like to follow. While pursuing MTA certifications you have the opportunity to explore different certification and career options. This makes it nice because you are not jumping in and investing a lot of time and money into pursuing certifications you are no longer interested in completing.

Should you make the decision to pursue a career in technology and not continue on to more advanced certifications you will feel confident that you have learned the concepts and fundamentals needed for entry level positions in the technology field. This certification will also help you stand out on college and internship applications if that is the route you decide to follow. There are three different paths you can follow depending on what area you are interested in.

IT Pro path:
  • MTA Networking Fundamentals (98-366)
  • MTA Security Fundamentals exam (98-367)
  • MTA Windows Server Administration Fundamentals exam (98-365)
Developer path:
  • The first is the MTA Software Development Fundamentals (98-361) exam
  • MTA Windows Development Fundamentals exam (98-362)
  • or the Web Development Fundamentals exam (98-363)
Database path:
  • This is the MTA Database Administration Fundamentals exam (98-364)
You will receive a certification after the successful completion of each MTA exam you pass in any of the three paths. Each of these certifications provides a solid foundation that will give you the knowledge and skills needed to have a successful career or successfully complete more advanced certifications.

LearnKey will be one of the first with multi-media training content for the MTA certifications. As a proud partner with Certiport we would like to extend a FREE 45 Day MTA Trial License, visit Cetiport at http://www.certiport.com/mta.
