LearnKey Announces Return of Scholarship Program
LearnKey is proud to announce the return of the LearnKey Scholarship Program. We had a great turnout with last year's scholarship program so we have decided to do it again! For students interested in computer skills or web and graphic design, LearnKey has designed a scholarship program just for them.
LearnKey awarded last year's scholarship to Britney M. Thomas from Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School in Montgomery, Alabama. Thomas was awarded $1,000 scholarship toward her attendance at Florida A&M University. John Cannady, Technology Teacher at Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School enrolled his technology students in the IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification) Scholarship Program, and out of all the students that took the IC3 course, passed the certification test and wrote a 500 word essay, Thomas outshined them all.
Brewbaker had one class that trained over 352 hours, had 37 students pass the IC3 course and Masterexam, and 29 students applied for the scholarship. LearnKey donated IC3 testing vouchers to all the students.
IC3 is the foundation of computer skills for the competitive global workforce. It is the ideal certification for anyone that wants to demonstrate critical computer and Internet skills valued in today’s academic and professional environments.
This year LearnKey has decided to include a Multimedia scholarship as well as the IC3 scholarship. Five schools will be chosen with a total of $5,000 in scholarship money. The details are being worked out so stay tuned, rules and eligibility will be announced in November.
