Upgrading to Windows Server 2008? Word to the Wise!
You’ve probably been hearing that Windows Server 2008 offers some very attractive features and benefits. Added innovations help increase uptime, defend against intrusion, and automate management. Before you decide to move into the new platform, be sure to honestly assess your skill level. Are you a novice or do you have several years of experience with Microsoft technologies?
A warning for the entry level tech: Windows Server 2008 assumes you have a base knowledge of its predecessor, Server 2003. Being more than familiar with the capabilities of basic features like Group Policy and IPSec will be necessary for a successful deployment of Server 2008. If you are new to Windows Server, you’ll need the “backwards compatible” knowledge available in LearnKey’s Server 2003 courses.
If you are a seasoned IT pro, you are likely anxious to get on with the Server 2008 exams and certification to begin taking advantage of the new features. But, again, be warned that the exam will require a fresh knowledge of some 2003 MCSA material. As you may know, these exams can devour the unprepared! LearnKey experts, Aaron Spurlock and Tom Carpenter will take you through the newest features and processes along with covering all the exam tasks, but it’s possible you’ll need to review the Server 2003 training courses to be sure your baseline knowledge is up to speed.
LearnKey offers both Windows Server 2008 and Server 2003 training to prepare you for the new Microsoft MCP and MCITP certifications.
