The purpose of this track is to provide basic computing skills that are needed in the 21st century. Basic computer knowledge is a must in most job roles. Computers are used in so many applications and the expected competency level is at least the computer foundations level. These skills allow a student to proceed forward; if desired into many different computer based job roles.
Skill Sets:
Basic skills using keyboard, mouse, and various Operating Systems
Learn how computers interact with society and personal productivity
Overcoming stress when working with computers for basic tasks
Learn interface commands and how to do data entry
Understand word processing
Work with e-mail programs
Understand the various standard software applications and usage
Experience the Vista, Mac or Windows XP built in programs
Basic navigation and computer organization skills
Outlook:
Technology continues to integrate into all area of our lives. Candidates with basic computing knowledge qualify for job roles such as data entry, basic office support staff, even production facilities often have computer based mechanical devices that require basic computer skills to run the equipment.
