Forbidden - You do not have permission to access /elearning/lkdetect/...

Symptoms:

When attempting to access the training, labs, or tests you receive the following error, "Forbidden you do not have permission to access /elearning/lkdetect/ on this server ".

Detailed Information:

This issue is known to occur after downloading the following security patch from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS05-037.mspx

Your issue may be caused by conflicting Java Virtual Machines. The Microsoft Java Virtual Machine is required to use OnlineExpert. Some other vendors (Sun, etc.) may have their own Java Virtual Machine and if installed may be configured to be the default VM. This will not allow OnlineExpert to work properly.

Solution:

    1. Open an Internet Explorer browser.

    2. Click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options.

    3. Click on the Advanced tab.

    4. Scroll down through the list of check boxes until you find Java (Sun).

    5. If there is currently a check mark in the check box you will need to
remove it, close any open Internet Explorer browsers, and move to step 9. If there is NOT a check mark in the box then you will need to place a check in the box and move to step 6.

    6. Once you have placed a check in the box for Java (Sun) click on Apply, click on OK, and then close any open Internet Explorer browsers.

    7. Repeat steps 1-4 to open the Internet Options window.

    8. Remove the check mark that you placed in the box for Java (Sun) click on Apply, click on OK, and then close any open Internet Explorer browsers.

    9. Open an Internet Explorer browser.

    10. Attempt to launch the training again.
