Cannot find vids:iv32 decompressor error message


Symptoms:

    You get Video not Available, cannot find vids: iv32 decompressor error message or similar, or the LearnKey video may not play.

Detailed Information:

    When Windows plays a sound or video clip it utilizes what is called a CODEC which COmpresses and DECompresses the video/audio and plays it through the sound card and video card of your computer.

    The vids:iv32 decompressor error is normally caused by an Indeo Codec

Solution:

    You can download a codec pack from www.free-codecs.com
    Look for the Codec Packs section on the left of the window.

    1. Find and click on K-Lite Codec Pack

    2. Click the Download link

    3. Choose one of the full pack links

    4. After the download is complete, install using default settings

    5. Start the training again

    WINDOWS VISTA UPDATE:

    There is a Windows Vista Codec Package available on free-codecs.com that will resolve this issue in Vista.

    1. In the search box, enter Vista Codec and press Go

    2. Download the Vista Codec Package

    3. After the download is complete, install using default settings

    4. Start the training again

    For the vids:iv32 decompressor error, thr the above steps.
    If they do not work, you will have to contact Microsoft and get them to send you an update for your sound card.
    The Indeo Codec is no longer free and has to be purchased
