Video is choppy or does not match audio

Symptoms:

When trying to view a training CD-ROM, the video may become choppy or the video is not synchronized with the audio.

Detailed Information:

Most video problems occur because the video cards drivers are out of date, drivers are corrupt, your computer does not have the latest video codecs or the operating system does not have the latest updates. Typically, these problems can be fixed by installing the latest drivers for your video card and/or updating Windows with the latest patches and service packs.

Solution:

First, try lowering hardware acceleration to see if that helps:
    1) Click the START button
    2) Click on SETTINGS (if necessary)
    3) Click on CONTROL PANEL
    4) Double click the DISPLAY icon
    5) Click the SETTINGS tab
    6) Click the ADVANCED button
    7) On the General tab, make sure the DPI setting is set to Normal Size (96 DPI)
    8) Click the TROUBLESHOOT tab
    9) Change the Hardware Acceleration slider bar to half or less and click OK

    Then
    1) Open Windows Media Player by clicking Start>Programs>Windows Media Player
    2) Click the Tools menu. This may be hidden. If you move the cursor to the top of the window the menu should appear
    3) Click Options
    4) Click the Performance tab
    5) Near the bottom of that Window there is a video acceleration slider. Move the slider to a lower setting (recommend the slider being in the middle),
    6) Click on Apply
    7) Click the Network tab
    8) Near the top of the page under Protocols for MMS URLs there are three boxes – uncheck RTSP/UDP and RTSP/TCP leave only HTTP checked
    9) Click on Apply
    10) Click OK
    11) Close Windows Media and test the training

If the problem still exists, do the following:
    1) Contact your hardware provider and have them assist you in downloading and installing the most current drivers for both your sound and video cards.
    2) Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to download and install the latest patches and service packs for your version of Microsoft Windows.
